ABOUT ZOE

ZOE WAS  PASSIONATE &

COMPASSIONATE...

You always knew what Zoe loved to do because she pursued it with everything she had. She poured herself into playing volleyball, learning the violin, and taking horseback riding lessons. She loved all animals, but dogs were at the top of her chart.

For those that had the opportunity to invite Zoe into their lives, they will always remember how she made them feel. She loved her friends and family with a genuine love that made one feel they were the most important person to her.

REMEMBER

by Zoe's Dad

Remember the mountain journeys,
campfires and night skies,
To count the stars our eyes could see,
such vastness mystifies.

Remember the sand castles,
the beach between our toes.
To count the grains beneath us,
a number no one knows.

Remember the ocean waves,
they brought you such delight.
To count the drops of water,
no answer would be right.

Remember when the snow fell,
winter fun would soon commence,
To count the fallen flakes around,
a task beyond immense.

Remember, oh to remember,
sweet memories made with you.
The moments were so many,
the days were just too few.

Rejoice in what is coming,
what has not happened yet.
No counting time in Heaven,
separation we'll soon forget.

This life is but a whisper,
a glimpse of what's to be.
How do we fully comprehend,
Heaven's eternity.

First Breath, Last Breath

by Zoe's Dad

Written to honor the two year anniversary of Zoe's passing.   It is also for all grieving parents that have had the sacred experience of living through their child's very first and very last breath here on earth.

Nurses gathered...
around the bed.
Within minutes...
appeared your head.

Then your eyes...
then your nose.
Ten little fingers...
ten tiny toes.

Soon it came...
your very first breath.
A gasp, a cry...
a heaving chest.

You entered this world...
a love story began.
Joy overflowing...
experiencing God's plan.

Countless times...
your lungs would fill.
A life we cherished...
and enjoyed until.

That day came...
we did not know.
A last breath taken...
to heaven you'd go.

Your eyes gently shut...
chest now stilled.
Our hearts forever...
with grief now filled.

An honor to witness...
from beginning to end.
A beautiful life...
that God did lend.

From the first to the last...
we treasured each breath.
Your time on earth...
interrupted by death.

Oh, but a first gasp in heaven...
how did that air taste?
Sweet, fresh, life-giving...
joy alive on your face.

Breathe deep precious daughter...
we too shall soon see.
Nevermore a last breath...
forevermore you will be.

"I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly" -Jesus (John 10:10)
